The ceremonial signing of our elder abuse protection bill happened only because our members had the courage to tell what happened to their loved ones. Thankfully the legislators and regulators listened to our plea for solutions. Because the media covered the stories of neglect, abuse, and exploitation, the industry had no choice but to work with us. This is a significant achievement. There is much more to do but enjoy this wonderful moment.
